Dunno if anyone would be interested to know, a 378 simulator has been installed at Willesden TMD, apparently its actually a 'proper' 378 cab with the TMS and everything on it actually works so can be used for traction conversion courses and teaching out-of-course working.
We are over there in a couple of weeks doing depot driving so i'll see if i can get a snapshot or two and possibly have a go too.

I'm pretty sure that's what our one is like.
The 31(not 100% sure of class) at Hornsey is pretty good but a little unrealistic, some parts are physical i.e power handle, brake, aws etc but the door controls are on a touchscreen in front of you and you have a touchscreen behind for the breakers and door key switch. Not to mention I had a 313 go past on a DC line with the pan up, and I got a dual-voltage warning before i'd raised the pan but got to admit it was a pretty good experience and i can see the benefits for dealing with out of course events and emergencies etc and getting the basics of driving, obeying signals etc

Finally we got to have a go on it today, what can i say except WOW! It's a full, full cab with working TMS, internal/external CCTV monitors and not a screen replicated gauge or button in sight, all the real thing except the absolutely huge screen that is in front of the cab but it does actually feel realistic as you are looking at the image through the windscreen.
They can throw all sorts of events at you such as a car stopping on a level crossing in front of you, cows on the line (not that i'd expect that to happen on LO lines) and random faults/tripcock activations.
