I was on my way home from Monument tonight and as my Train stood at West Ham (around 19:30-20:00) the service update announcement came over the station PA and announced that there is 'delays on the District Line due to a Major Incident'
I've just checked the TfL/Tube website and there doesn't seem to be anything affecting the District Line.
Anybody know have any more info on what the situation was with this apparent ‘major incident’?
Thanks.

I never heard details, but when I was at ECT they were announcing a "passenger incident" at Barking, whatever that means! Didn't seem to cause too many probs as all 5 of my trains today were on time! (Yes FIVE trains! The joys of being an Acton spare!)

something was happening on the wimbledon branch on sunday too - people wandering about near fulham, so no service around 12pm, and later in the day still no service due to 'passenger action' on the same branch somewhere...

The incident at Fulham invloved a couple of double gaters, who when challenged by staff made a break for a train that was at the platform. Staff called the BTP, but the fare dodgers caught drift of what was going on and decided to jump down onto the track and make a run for it. One of them ended up standing astride the e/bound in front of a train, before the police arrived and took them away. Nowhere near as good as the incident that happened at Earl's Court yesterday though. A french tourist who forgot to get of the District when he wanted to change to the westbound Picc took matters into his own hands when his train left platform 2 and stopped at the next signal. He spotted an Ealing Bdwy train stopped at a red approaching Earl's Court and tried to prise open the doors. When that didn't work he went out through the inter car door, ducked under the inter car barrier, checked to see that the coast was clear, and attempted to board the Ealing train!.

Ah yes, I did hear about that one when i was booking on yesterday. Unbelievable the lengths some people go to to catch a train.

I once came across a pair of American tourists who were trying to get directly from my train in Tower Hill bay road to the train on the eastbound. They couldn't understand why the door open buttons weren't working!

Is 'Major Incident' in the same army as 'General Cockup?
