I went to Shoreditch today and took photos of the 1983 cars, as well as the old station building, also took shots of old Aldwych station building, they are in the september collection on my website www.chriswakeman.fotopic.net
There are four - two are elevated and clearly visible from the street, and the other two are directly on the viaduct. You can see them all in <a href="http://london-underground.blogspot.com/2008/03/visiting-nabokovs-tube-carriage-offices.html">Annie Mole's photos</a>
Yeah, they're further south along the Broad Street route than the bit the ELL is using.
And anyway, the extension is more or less finished apart from the stations and tracklaying and fitting out, so it's a bit late for anything to be threatened by it.
