Ok, here's a non-ATO version: Russ But is it a type already used on LU? If not, the introduction of a novel feature will cause a lot of problems getting approval.

Tom - I don't know whether my sketch is of a type already used on LU, but Met Apprentice notes the northbound home signals at Harrow-on-the-Hill could be something of a precedent - it would be useful to see a pic or a diagram of those. I accept that a novel feature would be resisted strongly, but I get the impression, as a non-professional reading the various signalling threads here, that there are a number of 'quirks' and 'specialities' throughout the system already. Signalling requirements have to be sensitive to the needs of a particular location, so the equation boils down to whether the expense of doing something/anything is justified for the number of times that the current situation is actually causing a problem; DD's estimate of 4 or 5 times per year has to be balanced against the many thousands of times per year (50k? more?) where everyone gets to go where they intended.

I think Met Apprentice's comment about Harrow may be slightly misleading. Harrow's NB home has two sets of route lights to show two diverging routes. (The signal has a third straight route btw).

Sorry to come back to this thread after it being inactive for so long but I have a couple questions.
Do the refurbished D Stocks have any announcements that tell passengers that they are on their way to South Harrow?
also
When going up the picc do the D's go non-stop up to South Harrow?
