I saw these three units outside neasden depot on their way back after wheel turning, around 7.00 pm last thursday. 28/8/08
They waited for ages for a clear path, to leave the depot, it does seem a odd time for a empty stock move around london???

Odd time or not, these stock moves are reliant wholly on train operator availability. And as this requires an operator who is not only "spare" to requirements, but also road-trained to/from Neasden depot. Both of those qualities are pretty rare at present, so we have to run it when we can.
I believe this particular train had been there several days due to the fact we couldn't staff it to come back.

Line to line stock moves were always done after the evening peak years ago, mind you,in those days on most lines the pm stablers were all away by 8pm.
