Hi - Sorry if this has already been answered by another thread, I couldn't find one when I looked. I was hoping that someone could explain to me why the Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines are suspended from 2100-2140 every night? TFL says:
"PICCADILLY LINE: On Monday to Thursday evenings, between 2100 and 2140, suspended between Ruislip and Uxbridge. Metropolitan line services operate between Ruislip and Hillingdon. Customers are advised to use Bus Route U2, which has been enhanced, between Hillingdon and Uxbridge. "
This seems like a VERY random closure time. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on what it is related to and why it's only a 40 minute closure!! Thanks in advance.

Sorry - I'm a bit unfamiliar with some of the terminology used here. Is p4 Platform 4?

Also in the preamble to the altered timetable the details of where the staff taking the possession and where the possession will start will be detailed.

I take it this morning's suspension due to "an obstruction on the platform at Uxbridge" is related to this?

Platform 4 (track and platform) and Platform 3 (platform) have been shut over the last weekend for resurfacing work (just reading TTN 31/09); could that be related?

I take it this morning's suspension due to "an obstruction on the platform at Uxbridge" is related to this? I spy another thread bump (this place is becoming quite hazardous of late with umpteen such bumpings). The possessions ended some months back, and whilst I don't have to hand the exact reasons for the suspension this morning, I would imagine the hours were nowhere near 2100-2140. Given these two facts, I am more or less, nay certain, that this morning has nothing whatsoever to do with the thread subject. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Yes - confirmed - the suspension today was not down to possession issues etc but was linked with work currently taking place on the roof / ceilings

I spy another thread bump (this place is becoming quite hazardous of late with umpteen such bumpings). The forum policy is that threads are now locked after 6 months; by my calculations this thread would have been locked on the 29th February.

Thanks for the info upfast.
I should have been clearer. As far as I could tell, only the Picc was suspended, not the Met, which implied only one platform was out of use. This thread is about the work on the roof obstructing one of the platforms. It's not a huge leap to think there might have been a connection.

Fair enough, and perhaps you could have been clearer, as I read the thread to concern a query why the suspension (Picc and Met) was taking place (last year) and although an item allegedly connected with the refurbishment caused today's suspension, it is not directly related to the original suspensions - just allegedly related to the overall work. mrfs42, not sure about your diary, but I doubt this thread will be locked on 29th February this year...
