The announcer got crossed up--saying "Ruislip West" when he should have said "West Ruislip." BTW, that scene at "Ruislip West" brought back memories as in those days there was full-fledged USAF base next to the station.

He actually said Ruislip West Depot, so shouldn't he have said Ruislip Depot?

yep its out in the ltm right now heres the trailer Fantastic viewing, so much has changed since my time on the trains. I remember the opening of the Victoria Line, the new stock then, but now, its even better. The trains are fantastic, and the idea of fresh air, well long delays will never be the same again, yes LT has come along way from my days of the little 38 stock. Im envious.

Ruislip; you might be interested to know the base was there and opperational until roughly last year. I always found the buildings fascinating to look at because they deffinately were not of a style from this side of the pond.
Theres now a new development of boxes going up called 'Ickenham Park'. One wonders if West Ruislip should regain a suffix to denote this.

When I lived there 1969-75, the base there was associated with the old base at South Ruislip on Victoria Rd (btw, I was born there in 1964 when my dad was stationed @ High Wycombe). After the South Ruislip facility closed, several functions remained at West Ruislip (primary school--where I attended Kindergarten before spending 5 yrs at Atholl School in Ruislip Manor, base exchange, chapel, snack bar, auto repair, etc). I think that in the late 70s the Navy took over.
