The DMI's on the OR Circle on stations west of Liverpool St have the scrolling message "all trains go to Liverpool St".Shouldn't this be changed to "all trains go to Moorgate" as it's much more likely for trains to be turned there than at Liverpool St?

For the people that need that sort of message, Liverpool Street is more likely to be the destination than Moorgate.
I think it is Waterloo NB Northern Line that has the fixed message underneath the DMI saying "all trains go to Euston". The I've seen something similar on the NB Victoria somewhere but can't remember where.

Southbound Northern line at Tottenham Court Road says that "all trains go to Charing Cross and Waterloo." Charing Cross yes, Waterloo no!
Having said that, if it's a case of being true 99% of the time, I don't have a problem with it telling a "white lie." However, I agree with Towerman that the message on the Circle should be change to Moorgate, because traina terminating there are not that uncommon.

The Moorgate bay road terminators can be quite entertaining when they coincide with an approaching inner rail service. A couple of weeks ago during an H&C shutdown east of the station, my A60 was quite literally stormed by detraining C-stock passengers all strangely determined to go back the way they came. Closing doors were held open and more people were encouraged to jump aboard, but they'd all got off an eastbound and I was going west. I was so tempted just to let it all happen and drive off in the direction of Barbican ............ but I didn't. I re-opened the doors, made a p.a. and the train emptied. Would you get on a bus without knowing where it's going?? So why a train?

I was so tempted just to let it all happen and drive off in the direction of Barbican ............ but I didn't. You should have, they certainly wouldn't have done the same thing again if you would have. Its the same with people who put there foot in the doors at the last minute as there closing, I avoid at all costs re-opening, as if they end up having to remove there foot, and then look stupid as I drive away leaving them on the platform, they are far less likely to try it next time. These clowns must be taught a lesson

but I didn't That's because you're a Gentleman, and a credit to your job. No doubt this and your other undoubted customer service qualities have not failed to be noticed. I always say to my daughter who works for a big supermarket chain, the Bosses know who chats, does no work, bunks off, and is rude to customers. They also know who in turn does the opposite. And it does not hurt or cost to be polite and helpful anyway.

i am polite to my customers all the time Gentleperson # 2! Having been a Boss myself, I can assure that I knew what went on in my firm! I am a stranger these days to the LU, but would assume that there are enough 'eyes and ears' out there on the system that would record/report any negative attitudes from T/ops. Years ago a pal and I were on the Northern when they still had guards. He was dressed up in his LT BUS Chief Inspector's uniform, and the guard was taking a slovenly attitude which really was OTT. Pal quickly spoke to him about this, and I have never seen anyone go so pale and sit-up so straight so quickly in my life! He I think had the fright of his life, and honestly thought that he would be receiving a summons for disciplinary action! My attitude is that out there in customer service land, there could always be someone whose job it is to report on you, or for some reason or another is only too willing to report to management.

Ode: my dad complained to his Boss, a friend, with and for whom he had worked for 30 years. His complaint was that in all that time he had never had a word of praise for all that he did. Boss turned round and said that he had never told him that he was doing a bad job! In his eyes lack of negative comments was praise. Dad still smarts at this. Praise where praise is due I believe, so it is so nice to hear that T/ops at least are behaving beyond strict call of duty in practice. But you all do anyway!
