Did the original building at Wood Lane (the one that was disused since 1947) just get demolished? I seem the remember there was talk of rebuilding it somewhere else at the time? Not heard anything since, so I imagine it just got demolished some 50 years after its last passengers used it!

I've read that the frontage was sent to Acton for rebuilding at the LUL museum.

i have ask the London Transport Museum
here the answer!
Thank you for your enquiry regarding Wood Lane Underground Station and I apologise that it has taken so long for me to get the information. The façade has been totally dismantled and is being stored in Shropshire, where an assessment has recently been carried out to ascertain how much funding would be required to restore and reassemble the façade. With the refurbishment of the Museum that is occurring until our reopening in the spring of 2007, the funding for the restoration of the Wood Lane façade is unfortunately not the highest priority at this moment. I can tell you that the Roundel over the station entrance, which had been painted brown, is in fact a rather splendid mosaic design. Unfortunately at this time there are no definite plans regarding the possible restoration and final resting place of the façade. Sorry that I could not offer a more definitive answer.
Greetings
Dennis

So basically it will be left in Shropshire until its completely forgotten about and will then mysteriously disappear!
Yes, I know I am a cynic!

What about Shoreditch? I went there on Sunday and the station building is still there but looking a lot worse for wear. Have they removed the platforms and everything else and just left the building in situ? Seems a shame to see it in such a state!

Platforms, canopy ans stairs from booking hall to platform have all gone... material/ hard standing/ rubble etc has been put down.
I did hear a rumour that the building would become a community centre or something.
