was just wondering as the ELL is being resignalled to NR standards what the maximum speeds are likely to be and will it be 3 or 4 aspect signalling? Also i'd assume the 378's will be equipped with AWS/TPWS?

I'd suggest that the majority of signalling will be 3 aspect; however this is purely an 'educated guess' rather than sight of any schema.
I guess that TPWS will be provided as a matter of course.

Whoops, I should have posted this in the east london line forum (please move if appropriate mods).
I was just wondering some things as i start training as a driver with lorol later this month for the ELL and was wondering what to expect with regards to the signalling etc

Actually; I think you've posted in the correct place - as you're asking about what the ELL will become as part of the OvergrounD. As I said earlier I think you'll find standard (NR stylee) 3 aspect signalling on the former ELL proper - the braking distances **might** justify the double yellows (HH) in a couple of places; but the service density probably won't warrant it throughout the whole of the line. Good luck with the training.

guessing here but do you think the line speeds would be significantly higher in places like the overground section from new cross onwards to croydon? Electrostar trains are used on the line local to me and run at linespeeds up to 55 in some short sections (under 2 miles) so im guessing some of the longer sections would possbly have similar speeds.
PS: thanks

The plans I have seen show a 40 mph max limit. They also show what appear to be 3-aspect signals and TPWS. I'm not sure how NR show AWS ramps but I suspect they willbe provided. The diagrams are very difficult to read compared with LU scale plans.

I am surprised they aren't gearing it up for ATO given TFL's love of it !
