It is not hard to navigate on the Underground and reach the correct train because they are well signposted and announcements are made! You would need the Victoria Line southbound or Northern Line northbound to reach the Euston... the Victoria is probably the safer of the two options. It is not a long walk between the two stations though and there is the 205 bus.

If you want to use the Underground, it is quite well signposted, and there are always staff around to ask if you don't know the way - they wear distinctive blue uniforms.
From King's Cross, there is an entrance to the station on the concourse - it is signed and has a large roundel above it, you go under there and end up at the ticket office. Once you've got a ticket and through the ticket gates, there are two escalators, the set to the right are for the Victoria line. You should by now be seeing signs saying "Victoria line <arrow>" - if you are confused, ask a member of staff - there is always an assistant on the ticket gates. FWIW the Victoria line is always a light blue colour, used in signage etc. You then want a SOUTHBOUND Victoria line service, I can't for the life of me remember whether this is the left or right hand side of the platform, but you should follow the signs for the southbound. When on the platform a screen shows when the next train is due, trains will probably be shown as going to "BRIXTON" (if you see trains indicated for "WALTHAMSTOW" or "SEVEN SISTERS", you're on the wrong platform!!).
All the trains are fitted with a DVA system which tells you the station you are at, the next station etc. Euston is just one stop, so you should get off there. I'm not conversant with Euston station as I am Kings Cross, but follow the National Rail signs and you should be fine.

At Kings Cross, the southbound Victoria line is left at the bottom of the escalator.

Kings Cross to Euston is only a short walk or bus journey, I wouldn't bother taking a train as it'll take longer to get to the platform than it would take to walk.

Quite, I agree with Bill, it is probably easier if you don't know the city to take the tube, even if it is slightly longer and more expensive.

To be fair to Jim it is not difficult to navigate your walk. Stand outside Euston Station and walk against the traffic until you see King's Cross! The tube would probably be easier though - and more interesting
