Hi all,
1st post here!
When the overground is running Special services like Hackney - Queens park do drivers have to change ends at any points to make these strange connections or are there direct routes.
What I mean is enter a platform 1 way but go back out another way.

Yes Hackney to Queens Park is direct via Primrose Hill and a change of ends at both stations does help.

When arriving at Hackney Wick they use the up platform to terminate in, that's in the direction of Dalston. At Queens Park they terminate in the down dc platform.

They are actually running through to Willesden Junction bay, even though they are advertised as Queens Park

TfL do not do things very clearly when it comes to running diverted trains through the Primrose Hill link. On Saturdays even though the posters advertise Stratford / Hackney Wick to Queens Park the service actually runs through to Willesden Low Level bay, even though there is more trains on Saturdays between Queens Park and Willesden Low Level. However when there is less trains running on a Sunday the service will terminate at Queens Park!!! Now this causes problems because it means that when the train arrives at Queens Park it has to be immedately turn round at allow a Watford Junction service to arrive, that is why on a Sunday you then have 7 to 10 minute wait at Camden Road!! Poor train planning to say the less. Could easlly be extended to Willesden Low Level without interfering with any service< however the cynic in thinks the reason why they do it on Sundays is 1 to reduce the amount of rolling stock required (1 unit) but more importantly to reduce staff costs. You dont need as many staff to operate the service.
