Is there a list of valid interchanges available anywhere?
Some are well known such as Euston to Euston Square and between the two Hammersmith stations. On the other hand the journey planner also gives interchanges where you will be charged twice and the fare finder gives fares that are lower than valid for any route the journey planner offers.
Then there are a few within station interchanges that aren't recognised either such as Tottenham Hale.

I know all of the following are classed as interchanges
Leytonstone - Leytonstone High Road West Hampstead NLL - West Hampstead Jubilee Kenton - Northwick Park Kentish Town - Kentish Town West Paddington H&C - Paddington Bakerloo/Circle Shepherd's Bush H&C - Shepherds Bush Central
I think the following are Canary Wharf Jubilee - Canary Wharf DLR Canary Wharf Jubilee - Heron Quays DLR Camden Town - Camden Road
I think the following are not valid West Ruislip - Ickenham South Hampstead - Swiss Cottage

I can add Sudbury Hill - Sudbury Hill Harrow to the list as a definite.
I've heard Archway - Upper Holloway, Leytonstone - Leytonstone High Road are allowed, but I haven't tested them
The West Hampsteads also now includes the Thameslink station.

Liverpool Street underground to Liverpool Street mainline works.
I think Hackney Central - Hackney Queens Road works, but I've not had occasion to try it. Similarly Seven Sisters - South Tottenham.

Officially, any interchange shown as such on the tube map is allowed, but as we can see there are others too.

OK for LUL to LUL interchanges but with PAYG on some NR services interchange isn't always allowed. When there was disruption to a Liverpool Street - Chingford service I travelled via Tottenham Hale and the Victoria Line. I was charged for two separate journeys to/from Tottenham Hale.

Bank to Bank is ok [That is, Central line to W&C via the booking hall, which I think is quicker than the tunnel.]

I wouldn't actually know on this as it wouldn't affect me anyway, but are such interchanges allowed between any two stations of the same name? (Edgware Road springs to mind)

I don't know about Edgware Road, but Paddington and Canary Wharf are valid. I think Shepherd's Bush was/will be also.

(Edgware Road springs to mind) Last time I used Edgeware Road (Bakerloo) there was a notice just before the barriers explicitly warning people that it wasn't an interchange. (Hammersmith to Hammersmith on the other hand is fine). Journey planner gives routes off Chiltern services that involve walking to Edgeware Road (H&C). Marylebone to Baker Street is a valid interchange but to Edgeware Road? You can see why I was hoping that somebody could guide me to an official list when I started this thread.

As does Tower Hill - Tower Gateway. Presumably Tower Gateway - Fenchurch street is also an interchange.
I believe Bow Road - Bow church works too.
