Can anybody shed any light regarding this piece of info I was told a year or so Ago by a friends father who is rather well to do, he informed me that it was close to being agreed but the scheme was dismissed by the Woodford contingent as they did not want a train directly linked with Brixton, he also informed me that Chingford would have been a station in between walthamstow central and Woodford. Is he pulling my plonker??

No. ;D
I'm sure Chingford or Woodford wouldn't have minded being linked with Purley or Sanderstead if some of the early route proposals for the Victoria had actually been built.
The most interesting of all was for the Vic to turn left at Victoria and take over the Wimbledon branch.

I wonder if he's mixed up with the plan to terminate the Victoria line at Wood Street Walthamstow, with cross-platform interchange with the Chingford Eastern Region line? This was dropped at a late stage, just before the start of construction - a few Chinese whispers might have resulted in what you were told. Welcome to the forum btw!

What's interesting is that this possibility can almost be illustrated with one of the 67TS 4-cars that used to operate on the ATO Woodford - Hainault shuttle.
