I have finished the A stock history/list, and have decided to do a C stock one. What C stock units were painted into the Yellow Pages and 'Back the bid' liveries? I know 5532 was one of the 'Back the bid' units (5532 - red, 6532 - green), and 5555 was another (5555 - black, 6555 - yellow). EDIT - 5570 was the other 'Back the bid' unit - but what were the Yellow Pages ones?

So 5555 was in both? There must be something about that unit's cab they don't like if they put it in the middle both times! Although I suppose its cab was used when it ran the Chesham Shuttle. What year was the Yellow pages train about?

According to records, the unit was launched on 12 february 1998. The vehicles concerned also received special yellow pages moquetttes for the seating . It lasted until the vynals were removed in may 1999 and then took until august of the same year to return to Acton for repaint, which was completed by november. ;D

Also, I didn't know that they had to send C stock to Acton for them to be repainted.

Judging by the fact that they were all over yellow, including doors etc I would have asumed that they were all over yellow.... Normally they would be sprayed in the base colour of the appropriate advert then vynals applied in the correct areas.
Nowadays companies do tend to use all over vynals in strips. One that springs to mind on this was the poppy appeal SWT 455, it had an overal white basebut had strips of vynals applied with gaps cut out of it for the window and door areas etc, numbered on a sheet and placed in that order accordingly on the panel sides.
If it wasn't sprayed yellow then it would have run round in the previous undercoat LU colours although judging by the time it was out of service I would say that it received a full re-spray.
Not sure if it was a one off just for the repaints to Acton works but thats what the records say! ;D
