A good friend of mine has been having a clear out and has sent me some old Met. Signalling regulations - they're not the standard book that covers all locations, but are 'local books'. I append the list below and ask if anyone else has seen or heard of similar items of a similar vintage:
These look as if they are very limited print runs of about 100, I would be surprised if many have survived. Does anyone know of any others? If so, I would be most interested to hear from you.
Many thanks.
- Met. & GW Rlys: Regs. for Train Signalling by Electric Lock and Block between Bishop's Road and Hammersmith, May 1912.
- Met. Rly: Electric Lock and Block System between St. Pancras Tunnel Box, GN East & West boxes, Holborn Low Level and Moorgate Street (Widened Lines) with special instructions modyfying the working between King's Cross and Farringdon Street where Track Circuiting has been provided, October 1914.
(This one is labelled 'Aldersgate File' and has a local signalling instruction written in the back - Signalmen at Aldersgate must not give the 'Is Line Clear'? signal for Down Stopping Trains to Smithfield Junction Box until such trains are entering Aldersgate Station) - Met Rly: Regulations for Signalmen at Kings Cross 'C' box and Farringdon Street 'A' box where semi-automatic signalling is in operation, March 1915
- Met Rly: Regulations for Signalmen at Kings Cross 'C' box and Farringdon Street 'A' and 'C' boxes and Holborn Low Level where Track Circuiting is in operation, June 1915
- Met Rly: Regulations for Signalmen at Kings Cross 'C' box and Farringdon Street, Aldersgate Street, Moorgate Street and Holborn Low Level boxes where Track Circuiting is in operation, March 1924.
- East London Railway Joint Committee, Regulations for signalling of trains between Canal Junction, New Cross "A" and New Cross Gate Yard signal boxes, February 1927.
- East London Railway Joint Committee, Regulations for signalling of trains between Canal Junction, New Cross Gate Yard and North Kent east junction signal boxes, December 1929.
These look as if they are very limited print runs of about 100, I would be surprised if many have survived. Does anyone know of any others? If so, I would be most interested to hear from you.
Many thanks.
