I hope T6 and R3 are not built. Yeah, I'm being a bit nimbyish perhaps, but the space it will occupy is historic. Ancient buildings and villages will be bulldozed to rubble, just like the hamlet of Heathrow. Of course it will go ahead, the transport secretary refuses to answer questions to the local MPs (thank god for democracy eh?).
How much extra would it cost to move all notable structures to a new site?

Err... How about a dedicated AGT system connecting all the terminals that connects to the Picc at Heathrow 123 and close the Picc Heathrow loops and branches (and re-use the tunnels for the AGT)?

Would the 70s designed "Heathrow Central" station be able to cope with all the bemused tourists with massive rucksacks and Piccadilly line reliability without becoming overcrowded?

How is the Piccadilly service generally coping with the opening of T5? I'm asking because (prior to the branch opening) there was talk that increasing demand for Heathrow would detrimentally affect the overall service, including the Rayner's Lane service.
In the context of more general transport issues in west london a combined solution might be some sort of tram/light rail linking the Greenford branch, GW stations east of Hayes & Harlington and on to Ealing and Acton, taking over some of the district branch. This would improve the service to Heathrow by allowing the district to take over the RL branch. It would also take over the intermediate stations between Ealing and Hayes & Harlington allowing all suburban services from Paddington to run fast Ealing-Hayes.

I might be totally wrong here, but as T5 is just moving existing flights from other terminals, then I doubt that it would be significantly increasing the number of passengers travelling to Heathrow. Larger planes (A380) and general increase of people using public transport due to higher fuel prices may provide more of an increase. T6 and an extra runway could make a very significant difference as the number of flights will be increased!

As a passenger the Heathrow branch hasn't seemed any busier since T5 opened, feels like there are more trains going my way though (am I right?). You'd find it difficult to justify to local residents the culling of their service to Paddington. I don't know how much the line is used for freight but the Greenford service could have been transferred to the tram had it been built.

There has only been a few extra trains in the timetable but thats because of the extra running time they have at Heathrow. Its a 5 mins service same as before between Hatton Cross and Northfields however since T5 has been running a lot less trains has been cancelled thats because the service has extra running time but when it goes bad it really goes very bad you may get a couple train an hour. If T6 and R3 is built they should built it near Northfields as when the service runs late they turn everything at Northfields
