Hi everyone In the refurbished D stock trains, is there a way you choose what is shown on the Electronic Destination Display at the front/sides of the train. If you can, is it letters or numbers or what . Also, would anyone happen to have any pictures of it is there is one. Thanks Uzairrrrrrr

You type in a number code on a panel in the cab, and depending on the code, a certain destination is displayed.

There are no number codes for destinations.
First, a route is chosen from a list - e.g. Richmond - Upminster.
Then, the GPS will figure out where the train is. If this is not possible (e.g. in a tunnel) the driver chooses it from a list of all stations on the route - e.g. Gunnersbury.
Finally, the destination is chosen from a list of all stations on the route - e.g. Barking.
Code numbers are used for one-off announcements, such as No Smoking, and for engineering work / service suspensions.

It is worth saying that the D stock system is different from other trains with electronic displays. On the others (92 stock, 95 stock and 96 stock), you do type in a numerical code which sets up a destination. Not sure about the 1973 stock system.
