For the first time, I have come across an exact date for the end of the widened lines service from Farringdon. First Capital Connect's "your journey" newsletter states "From 1 March 2009, First Capital Connect Thameslink trains will no longer serve Barbican or Moorgate stations."
As 1st March 2009 is a Sunday, I assume that the last day will therefore be Friday 27th February 2009. Last passenger trains (under present timetable) appear to be 17:20 Bedford-Moorgate (arr 18:30 - last BR train at Barbican at 18:26) and 19:18 Moorgate-Bedford (arr 20:40).
