What do drivers see on their in-cab CCTV when stopped at PED stations? Are dispatch procedures different?

For the uninitiated: PED = Platform Edge Doors. What do drivers see on their in-cab CCTV when stopped at PED stations? The platform edge, as they would see at any other station. Are dispatch procedures different? Nope - it's the same as on the rest of LUL (ie, during normal operation, platform staff do their P.A.'s then raise their arm/baton to let the train operator know when they have done this; For any other event, such as an over run or pass alarm whilst in station limits, for example, platform staff must come to an agreement with the train operator as to how movement of the train will be carried out). There are of course procedures should there be a PED failure, but this shouldn't be confused with train dispatch - the two are entirely separate things.

IIRC the in-cab displays continue to show the platform picture until the train leaves the station.

So the only things they check are the platform side of the PEDs, and the pilot light on both sets of doors? That doesn't play well to my irrational fear of being trapped between the two.

Whilst I haven't got a tape measure to hand, I don't imagine the gap between the PED's and the train is anywhere near enough for a body to become trapped between - I'd also like to think the point was given more than a fleeting thought when the whole thing was designed & installed. Rest easy young 'cetacean', it's all perfectly safe

While there is a small gap, it's nowhere near enough for you / anybody to really become trapped (in my opinion anyway).

I didn't think there was anywhere to stand on the track side of the PEDs. Even if there is, you can open the doors from the track side.

there is no way you would get trapped between the ped and the door and the doors are pretty sensitive so if anything gets caught between them they try and close 3 times if they cant close an automatic pa come out shouting "please do not obstruct the doors stand clear" this will keep playing over and over until the ped is closed. normally by that point the driver does not get his blue light on the track side that tells him the peds are closed and he/she will open the doors again.

Basically we have a PSI (Platform status indicator) light and a regular door closed visual light.
Before the train can move (under normal circumstances) both lights have to be illuminated.
If there is no PSI light then I will not get a pilot light (unless I start to press buttons in the cab).
Normal platform duties are carried out ie CSA holds baton in the air until I am at least 1 car out of the station.
