One question, one comment. This has a nice little detail of Strand station - not entirely correct tiling (and I can't quite see the train in enough detail either). Anyway, I've had a look through my 'Tiles of the Unexpected' and I can't identify the station here. Anyone have any ideas?

My first thoughts were Marylebone or Kentish Town, but the text implies its a former LER station.

To me it looks like Archway N/B. I would say that it is definitely Northern line

Edgware Road or Kentish Town is my guess.

Looks like a 59/62 tube stock train. Frequent service, and sometimes the train doesn't stop. Very amusing!

To me it looks like Archway N/B. I would say that it is definitely Northern line It's not Archway NB (RGI and no shunt signal), it's not Edgware Rd (no OPO monitors). I would say Northern line, Kentish Town I think....but not certain.

A quick browse of flickr says the tiling pattern matches Kentish Town, but I can't find a photo that matches that one. Marylebone is an outside possibility. None of the other suggestions seem plausible.

I'd agree with Kentish Town, as there is a Northern line style stop mark and the platform at Marylebone is on the opposite side.

Definitly Northern line. Could it be Chalk Farm or Belsize Park southbound, istr, the tiles are that colour

It isn't Kentish Town. I went there today to have a look and the platform is much narrower at the headwall than in the photo.
I didn't have time to look anywhere else.

Way to go, cetacean, thank you! That's so cool, did you go out and track it down deliberately? If so, wow! And thanks to everyone else for your suggestions too. I'll go and have a look myself one day

No, I just put people's suggestions into the search box in flickr to see if any matched. It's not my picture.

Does your weak google-fu explain why you sent me a text saying 'Herring-bone Flemish Bond'? 'Cos my first thought reading it was 'WTF [1] - is she referring to Belsize Park? [1] what the flip.
