As a driver on BR (or whatever it is called this week), I am used to having the rails cleaned by rail head treatment trains during autumn. This cleaning is done by high powered water jets. In some places they have Sandite applied to the rail instead of using the jets. The point of all this is to help adhesion and stop wheel spinning/sliding.
Is there a treatment like this done on the open sections of LUL? If so who or what does it?

on the met line between harrow and amersham chiltern run a water-jetting train and lu operate a sandite train known as the rail adhesion train or rat. the rat operates on all parts of the met line north of wembley park. both trains run during leaf-fall season which is typically late september to early december

I know about the Chiltern water jet. Glad to see that there is a train on the Met to do the same as on BR, but why does it not go south of wembley Park? What about on other open lines like the Central, Northern etc?

Colin. Thank you pointing me to that thread. It is quite informative. As you might guess, being a driver on NR I am used to seeing the RHTTs (railhead treatment trains) out and about. I am pleased to hear that LUL does have them on certain lines. But do LUL actually have RHTTs for all lines? Or do they have trackside applicators such as this one?

The only other line is the central. Of course the P Way people can be called out to deal with any railhead contamination on any line.
The Rail Adhesion Train can lay paste (sandite) or scrub the rails.
The water jetting train only sprays on LUL lines if requested by the LUL Service Controller L2. Their (NR/Chiltern) sandite train is allowed to run over LUL lines but not to lay fluid.
