Wow The suspension on my forum car takes another hit. In the 7 or so months since this thread was last added to, people have more or less adapted to the idea that it's far easier / more sensible to throw a cocktail party in a proper establishment. There haven't been hoards of riots / PEAs / protests. People have more or less adhered to the law. Basically, people still use our trains when the alchohol is securely held (sometimes) inside them - which is a lot more anti-social than holding a can of drink. I would imagine those who flout the law now are the ones who used to drink on the train anyway. I don't think much has changed from my perspective of travel. Watching the video above, I don't think I've ever seen anything so boring. Someone pouring other people drinks. What fun. If that is all that could be captured by these individuals that evening, makes you wonder why they bothered

You still see loads of passengers drinking around the C&H, especially on late turns. I don't think the number drinking has gone down but some people are just more subtle about it. Still see the empties changing ends.
I've seen countless people with cans of booze since the ban. I'm just not going to screw my train down to go back and deal with it unless they are causing bother. Not worth causing the delay. For a start i'm still waiting for training in how to enforce it!!!!

Here are some sensible District passengers, who decided to mark the occasion sensibly: Passengers in bow ties and dinner jackets on the District line certainly makes a change from the normal Burberry

Utterly agree. Image above substance. Solve an imaginary problem first, look proactive. It might be bad manners to open up a can or bottle on the tube, but its wrong to make etiquette a (supposedly) law-enforced rule. Coming home standing on a packed friday night slow train from the midlands though is, of course, a completely different story.
