I've recently acquired some metal plates; obviously from an LU/LT signal box - I'm not sure of the location they came from, or even of they are part of a mixed set......
Eight 2"x 1½" rectangular enamelled plates, drilled quarter" in centre, reading OZ1 OZ24 A101 A106 A107A A109 A111 x2 (all red background with white lettering), one same size/drilling reading Shunters Plungers. All the red plates have a V underneath (presumably V for trainstop).
17 nickel plates, all inch-and-a-quarter-and-a-bit round, engraved:
Hammersmith Line (x2),NX (modern, much cruder engraving), Wimbledon (with Chesham Line on rear), Barking Line, Uxbridge line, Addison Road line, Earls CT and Putney Line, Wimbledon, City and Circle Line, Terminates here, City and New + Line, Watford Line, Willesden Line, Kings X and City Line, Great Western Line, High ST and Circle Line.
I'm tempted to suggest that if the nickel discs come from one place then they would have come from Aldgate; the OZ plates are obviously from Hammersmith - where do the Axxx plates come from then?
What does anyone else think?
