Is it about a particular historical rolling stock working of some kind? e.g. a farewell railtour, or some sort of P Way working?

It's nothing to do with rolling stock or permanent way.

You can get directly to Baker St from all four stations?

You can do that (although Bayswater-Baker Street may not be possible when the t-cup arrives), but this is not the answer I'm looking for.
I'll say again, the link is historical not geographical.

And is it the history of each locality or of the actual stations themselves? This is intriguing!

Did they all start off as Roman settlements?

Is it something to do with what was happening in the world when they were opened? I thought the link was that there was some sort of civil war going on at the time, as I thought Kensal Green opened in 1917 instead of 1916.
Edgware Road.....opened 1863 - American Civil War (1861-1865) Bayswater......opened 1868 - Japenese Civil War (1863-1868) Dollis Hill.....opened 1909 - Persian Civil War (1908-1909) OR Nicaraguan Civil War (1909-1911) Kensal Green.....opened 1916, start of Russian Civil War, or that it was during World War One.

Is is that they all opened on the same day, but in different years?

Is is that they all opened on the same day, but in different years? You got it! The link is that all stations opened on the 1st of October - Bayswater: 1868, Edgware Road: 1863, Dollis Hill: 1909, Kensal Green:1916
