A while ago I came across a rare picture of central line 'next train' describer that was peculiar to the post war eastern central line extension. But I can't find it now! It was at a tunnelled station, but thats all I can remember. Aide from the fact it may have been made in aluminium with a single blackend glass plate either side (so more modern looking than the ones at Earls Court say).
It reminded me very much of something from H.G. Wells' 'Things to Come' or 'Metropolis'; the past's view on the future.
If anyone can find it for me I'd be most greatful; I want to do a mockup of it including the central line extensions that were never built.
Many thanks!
P.S., I think it may have been in colour from the the 60s or 80s...cant quite remember now!

I think I've seen it in an old Underground News centre-spread, I certainly remember the comment about it being an unusual design. However, there is a B&W reproduction of one at the bottom of p67 of 'The Twopenny Tube' as the sign behind it read 'to the District Line' I'd suggest it was at Notting Hill Gate, the picture is from the LTM collection, so you might gain something by searching online.

That could quite possibly be where I saw it. I'd previously searched the LT museums collection to no avail, but have just looked at NHG and still nothing. Seems I'll have to wait till I'm back in London!

I think that one is at Bank, as the sign also makes reference to the Northern Line.
