I don't mean to be rude but what are you actually trying to say? Are you saying that there is a book coming out on 'Red Pannier Tanks' or there is a flyer being sold for £27 or even a pannier tank for £27?
If you do mean, as I think, that there is about to be a book released on LT Pannier Tanks are you able to give anymore details about it such as publisher, content, release date etc?
Again I'm sorry if I am seeming to be rude but a book on LT Pannier tanks is something that belongs on one of my bookshelves!

I'll nudge him to post something on the forum!

You are wrong With utmost respect, I was mentioning that this other book was available. The book on LT tanks sounds an excellent 'must have'. I only ever saw one once, at Hammersmith running on the WB Local on the Acton Works trip.

In the interests of Pannier Tanks, forgiveness shall be descended unto thee.

The afformentioned book is now part of my collection. 'Red Panniers. Last Steam On The Underground' by John Scott-Morgan and Kirk Martin grabbed my attention at the LT museum in Covent Garden today. The £27 price tag had me reeling until I looked through it. The bit at the end giving a brief overview of LT wagons suckered me in and I bought it. I read it on the train on the way home and can tell one and all that it is worth every penny!
On the way north (Covent Garden was a port of call while travelling 'pass' south after working north) I travelled on the down avoiding line at Didcot. For those with a love of Panniers 3650 in blue 'Stephenson Clarke Ltd' livery is looking superbly scruffy at the mo.

Even though I think Frank Pick might well be spinning in his grave at the association of Swindon <spit> and Pannier Tanks <spit> with London Transport, I can heartily recommend the book - surprisingly interesting and reveals a lot about structure gauges. I've (unsurprisingly) not got a copy, but I breezed through a display edition in Lower Marsh the other week. Note to AI - 'Building of the Victoria Line' on DVD would go down very well for Divali.

Excellent *Panniers* and *Swindon*: though from memory a) Panniers were also made by outside contractors and b) so many were built by BR. I used to own shares in 9682 at Southall, and that was a BR-built loco. Of course the GWR owned a share in H&C trains (their only electric stock by any interpretation) and GWR locos ran over the Met and CWL.
