Does anyone know if these are still being used by Metronet? I've had 'Metro-Land' moving ballast outside my flat all day for the GEML track replacement going on this weekend. I wouldn't have expected Metronet to be involved in that project.

The Locos are owned by First GB Railfreight and are used in the class 66 pool - they try and give them to Metronet for their engineering works though.

That makes more sense.
Cheers for that.

They can only be used for engineering work when the line is under possession as they don't have tripcocks.
Why can't more battery locos be used? I know that they can't haul as much. Is it so that Metronet didn't have to contract Tubelines' Transplant? At least it adds another chapter to the Diesels on the Underground story!

Isn't there a 25 mph restriction as well in lieu of tripcocks and out of deference to bridges?
