My flatmate is having some friends over from foreign climes. One of whom happens to work for Bombardier in a way that is connected in some way with the undergound (trains I think). This person has expressed an idle interest in the LT museum. 1) is there anything in there Bombardier-related? 2) What on the network is Bombardier-related (96 stock?).
Anyone? (Is this the right place to put this?)

Take him to the Central Line and show him how trains should not be built (they were built in the same factory at Derby that the new 09 and S Stocks are being built) and then take him to an A Stock and show him how they should be built.

Quite right ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (and the C Stock - bar the creaking and graffitti damage ) Quite a few refurbs were Bombardier based, C Stock springs to mind quite easily. They were RDS at Doncaster, 73 TS were done by Bombardier Pro Rail!

They were RDS at Doncaster, 73 TS were done by Bombardier Pro Rail! Were they! Ok then There's no way I'd take a visitor on a 73 though, nothing really nice about them at all (that creepy DVA is the icing on the cake).

The 73 stock were fine when they were first deployed but I was never keen on the refurbished editions! 'A' stock maybe more like main line trains but I don't rate them as anything more than uncomfortable especially at speed when the ride can be compared to that of a fairground Waltzer! In their day 67 stock were top class for me. Forget the rest which were/are much of a muchness speaking as a passenger.

I think I'm right in saying that the DLR has some Bombardier trains, and NR has plenty of Bombardier trains.
