(Could the admins move this please if its in the wrong place? It is historical afterall )
I'm fairly certain this has been raised before, and even on this site, but my angle on it is slightly different this time.
Londons Lost Tube Schemes details dozens of schemes that for various reasons didnt make it, but only a handful that received royal assent but were still not constructed for inability to raise funds to start construction.
Three of these schemes I can remember off the top of my head are the North West London Railway, City and Brixton, and the North East Suburban Electric Railway. There are a couple more I think, but thats it. The rest are extensions to lines that do exist (albeit minus said extensions).
The reason for me creating this is because of something that I did on wiki. I included details of the C&B on the closest artical I could find to the subject (closed underground stations), but the artical got reverted, so I reverted it back out of academia's sake. But I have a feeling the person who reverted it originally is a member here, so I wanted to apologise to them, and trust that they didnt take offence to me making the double revertion. It wasnt a childish little jibe or anything of the sort, I just am really of the opinion that since the artical contains very similar information already on other unbuilt schemes (such as Central to Richmond), it was and is an appropriate place.
In general though, surely this too is a good place for the information on such schemes to reside before it can be assimilated into a more relevant artical on Wiki, assuming its deemed off topic again? So if anyones read LLTS and other sources could they post such details here? It would be really good to raise awarness of such lines, as the topics are interesting but obtaining the material often isnt cheap or easily done!
I do have a diagram of these lines somewhere, but its not very good. Will upload if I have time. Thanks all!
