I will hazard a guess at King George V because it's St George's Day.

Guessing an obscure part of Tooting Broadway as it's close to St George's Hospital.

Nay - not Tooting Broadway - or not any part I know St George is thought never to have been to England at all. He is also the Patron saint of Germany. So I wonder who St George was rooting for during the WW's

Southwark?
The wall on the left looks very triangle and JLE-y?
Not got a clue but maybe he's supposed to be buried nearby?

I have to say my first thought was Southwark until I read the bit about the connection with the date, which left me stumped. However, a quick bit of googling revealed that there's a St George's cathedral (RC) in Southwark.

He is also the Patron saint of Germany. If he is they evidently hold him in less regard than they do in the UK - nobody is celebrating here in Berlin

Earls Court District. Since the color of the District is green, and yesterday was Earth Day?

I PM'd early this morning my suggestion, but got the station wrong. So knowing that the reason is correct, I'll go with Southwark because of what is nearby.

I'd say Southwark (that level in the station you first come across when going up the first set of escalators), purely based on the glass panelling towards the left of the picture.

Answers: Southwark - Lightwell from upper concourse. The reason that this location was chosen is because it was St. Georges Day and Southwark is close to The Globe Theatre.
