Mackenzie Crook's comments really don't do T/OPs any favours. The job is already perceived as easy by a fair amount of the public (an image not helped when some 92TS drivers roll into the station with their legs resting on the "dashboard".) I prefer to call it - *the console* sans walnut finish...........

Admittedly I haven't seen the film... but poetic justice perhaps !! Has anyone seen it that can provide a fair review (pro's & con's)?

Hasnae seen critial acclaim in the ratings - failed to make the top 10 on opening night! And now the film makers are suing LU for derogatory comments!

To be precise, they're threatening to sue Tim O'Toole because he disagrees with the subject matter of the film, and because he told his staff by issuing a company wide bulletin. My reply #12 on page 1 of this thread contains the jist of that bulletin - given that he acknowledged the film office's response as fair enough, I don't imagine they have a leg to stand on.....

The first link above shows an edited version, but it's close enough to what Tim said.

Looks like it's tanked good and proper tinyurl.com/5cms32(sorry, don't know how to do links) "Some industry sources estimated the film had spent more in a short period of time than some blockbusters would burn through in their entire UK runs. Others close to the production insist it was nowhere near that much, but concede it was far more than necessary and insufficiently targeted. "It fell between several stools," said one. Despite the spend, the film was poorly received. The Independent on Sunday found it "lamentable", the Times said it "starts falling apart the moment you locate a seat" and the Guardian found it "just another depressing, mediocre, muddy-looking British film that wastes an awful lot of talent". If that wasn't enough to put you off, it also features an ill-advised cameo from Kerry Katona." EDIT: Links with commas in them tend to work better once they've been run through www.tinyurl.com Colin.
