Searching through Ebay and found that somebody is trying to sell one of the FREE leaflets that you pick up at Tube stations for £4.99. tinyurl.com/22olsd

How very enterprising... Can't think why one shouldn't do this as they would be of interest of Tour fans, many of whom may not be over in London... Maybe out of fairness the vendor should mention that they were distributed free at source... but many other collectables were originally given out free...

It does show you what people will buy. Then again In guilty of buying a 1970's Tube map off there. I was only born in the 80s so was a way for me to get ahold of it.

Old tube maps are fine IMHO.
But if your prepared to pay the asking price, well, thats the market.
Anyone living in London would just get one from their station.

Think I paid a few quid. Was one with Bakerloo line going to Watford so I think I did ok. Maybe some Tube/Tour fan from down under or somewhere far away will like to have it? At a guess!

Surely not a scam - just exploitation of the poor s*ds who can't get one for free. If people wouldn't buy there'd be no market. After all, £2.95 programmes for the first cup final at the new Wembley were available on eBay for £10.00 an hour before they were available to the public ?.?.?.

True - I suppose, not a scam, BUT to sell something for a fiver that you can pick up free is a little 'naughty'.
Anybody else seen a piece of transport mania being sold for hugely inflated prices? My recent experiences.
A 1960's bus timetable for the 157, normally go for about a fiver, went to £30 as 2 people were bidding against each other.
Also, a metal bus stop E plate (the old metal square tablets with the route number on them that used to hang under the bus stops) for the 213 recently went for over £100. (imagine how many were simply thrown away!)
Anyway I've got some geniune Northern Line timetable posters - what shall I start the bidding at ;D

Like the alleged pieces of the crucifix from round the world would be enough to make a forest!

There is one English King (I think King John) who if he had stayed just one night everywhere he is alleged to have stayed, he would have lived to be over 100!

Recent Model Railway Magazines have referred to cases where Limited Edition models sold at Exhibitions have been offered for sale at 'inflated' prices. I suppose it depends on how desparate you are to have one and were unable to buy one at the original price. Obviously if you can't afford to buy one then don't !
