Doug Rose has published his book on the tiling of Yerkes stations. My copy arrived yesterday, and it is a magnificent publication. One very large hardback book, together with a box containing large illustrations of entire platforms on folded sheets, all contained in a slipcase. It's not cheap at £50, but it is a beautiful publication. It is available from the author, post free, or from the LT Museum, or from the Capital Transport ordering line 020 8407 3535 (24-hr answering service). I hasten to add that I'm not connected with the book, but just making an effusive recommendation for a fellow author's new publication. I've been waiting a while for this to come out. More details, and pictures, at www.dougrose.co.uk/. Highly recommended.

Update:
I have just got my book; fascinating first glimpse at randomly selected pages... plus the fold-out realisations of what the platforms looksed like, are excellent... Well worth the £50 price tag.

My two copies arrived at work today - delivered to me, (in part) by a 'proper' train [1]. I think angelislington will like her present for Dec. 25th. ;D Echoing Artery, the £50 price tag is actually more than reasonable for a superb publication. Get one if you want one before they sell out. [1] on the footplate of a steam engine.

Now to find space on my bookshelf. *rejigs layout* Hmmm, I've gotta sort out about 10 yards of shelfspace to get this book in the right location.

For me, it was meant to be a Christmas present off mumsie... alas, I have already opened the box and read a small part of it... Suppose I could wrap it up, then act surprised when I 'open' it!!! ;D
