Hi everyone! I'm reading this site for quite a while now and thought that now would be the right time to eventually become a member of it During my last trips to London I noticed that I've never ever really used the Hammersmith & City Line and thought it would be interesting to have a cab ride on DVD of it, just to see what it looks like on the West End side. The first one that caught my eye was the Barking-Hammersmith return trip produced by 225 Studios but unfortunately there's very little information given on their website and the price is not that fair as well. Does anyone of you own this DVD and if yes, is it recommenable? I reckon that tunnel sections are cut out - is this between every single underground station? That'd be definately a con! BTW, I should be mentioning that I already own Solidbond's brilliant District Cab Rides so that I already know quite a bit of the East End part of the line and it wouldn't make that much sense to buy the Vid125 one. Also it makes me bleed comparing cost-effectiveness of the District to the H&C but the latter is probably rather commercial and that's why. P.S.: I see 225 Studios has also released a DLR DVD with all routes (including the new King George V extension) in it. Not that cheap either but sounds interesting anyway. Cheers, Niklas

There is already a 225 studios thread! The tunnel sections are shown in full, but it is pitch black. Its ok.

Have a look at Video 125's District and Metropolitan DVD (Metropolitan actually being the H&C). That has the line as it was back in 1989, Hammersmith > Whitechapel. Also has the District (check out the newish D-Stock ), Whitechapel > Ealing Bdwy. Click here to see Video 125's intro about it. Plus, at £19.95, it's much better than £25 +

TubeboySorry about that, will use the search engine next time! Maybe someone can transfer it into the fitting thread @all I own the Jubilee and Northern Line productions of Video125 and like them very much. The only reasons why I wouldn't appreciate this one is that half of the route (Whitechapel to EBdy) is also featured on Solidbond's District DVD and I'm not really keen on having the section twice, for I'm also thinking about buying the ELL and District DVD (currently not possible due to lack of money ;D) Have many things changed on the H&C since 1989? @delboy200 Sounds very convincing ;D Taking that into account, I still don't understand where these prices result from...

It's quite an old vid Art - from when 60TS were about, I'm quite surprised that Vid 225 actually included it in the production. There was a thread on it but I can't find it.............
BTW the vid is 'Ongar to West Ruislip'.

Probably, c.1992/3...
It's a heavily edited production, down to 67 minutes, IIRC... normal running time is at least 20 minutes more...
