Hi All, After reading J.Graeme Bruce's book 'The London Underground Tube Stock' which i found an excellent read, does anyone know of a similar book for surface stock. Looking on Amazon and from previous post 'Steam to Silver' looks a good buy. Does anyone own a copy, what does it cover. Darren.

Darren, you may find pages 139-145 in that book of particular interest

There were two distinct editions the later being much fuller and including D stock etc - the format also changed to 'portrait' A4 layout. I have both and the later (1983) edition is well worth waiting for - it tends not to be more expensive anyway.

It's the 1983 edition i have ordered. Page 139-145 you say Jimi. I'll go straight there. It's hopefully arriving today. Incidently, I've just finished reading Brian Hardy's "Underground Train File Surface Stock 1933-1959" from cover to cover. Another excellent read.

Ah - I may then be a bit off with the page numbers Darren - I have the landscape mode 1970 edition (no D Stock).
