This morning, I decided to browse through the bowels of a certain second-hand shop, and came across a most wonderful book:
The London Underground Tbe Stock, by J Graeme Bruce, published by Ian Allan.
Wonderful photographs, my favourite being the one on page 34 [those members which have this book, will know why!!!]. It ends with the then new 73ts, sporting a Hatton Cross destination; I wonder who the Motorman is???
Cost £2, nostalgic value...priceless!

I've had a copy of that book since I was about eleven, I'm just re-reading it for the x-hundredth time; I still find new things in it.
BTW, my copy was actually published by London Transport; I think it has been re-printed and updated several times.
It would be good to see an updated version which covered the newer stocks, but only written by an engineer not John Glover again.

presumably this was the successor to 'Tube Trains under London' by the same author (1967). If so I can understand why you like it so much.

The companion volume for SSL is 'Steam to Silver', same author, equally good.

Yes. I got both of them when first published by LT, and still cherish them.
They are still useful in answering questions that come up in this forum.
