One of my best friends at secondary school, who I lost touch with, is a journalist for OTM. I only realised when I opened the magazine up and saw his face staring back at me.

Hey - you want a small world, see if you can beat this one My youngest daughter was born 3 1/2 months premature, at Harold Wood hospital. Whilst we were in the Special Care Baby Unit, we met one of the other mums, whose daughter was also very premature. She used to live in the road where I went to secondary school in Barkingside. The consultant in charge of my daughter was a neighbour of a driver at Upminster. Whilst in the unit, we met another woman who was visiting her granddaughter - she was a close work contact with my father-in-law BTW, in case anyone is concerned, my youngest daughter is now over nine years old, and is doing exceptionally well at school, despite the predictions of one particular doctor at the hospital

It may be a small world, but i'd hate to be the one who has to paint it!

On another forum I visit (an owners club for the Toyota Estima MPV import), there was a newbie joined up from York, where I used to live. I welcomed him onto the forum, and asked where in York he lived - turns out he is living in my old house!
Not only that, but the people who bought the house when it was new in 1965, were in the BMW motorbike club, they saw my Dad's name and address in the club mag when he was Yorkshire area social secretary!

While instances such as these seem comparatively common (goodness knows why), what I find even more intriguing are the complex relationships that sometimes exist between people as a result of marriage, separation and remarriage. For example, I know someone whose uncle has also been his step-brother, his brother in-law and his step-father!
