i had an interesting evening of events all of which happened within 3 hours. firstly on our way to cutty sark , catch the piccadilly line from hounslow west all empty until we reach earls court, (due to district line closures) get off at holborn only to hear that the next to central line trains eastbound are completely packed and our platform was just swarming..... after getting a taxi to bank try and get on the dlr which we managed to do that also being packed which i found quite unusual at that time of night. we go for our meal then on way home, DLR is running a 10 min service manage to get on train, get to bank go towards the central line, platform is empty train is EXPECTED in 1 min, doesnt come the platform then starts really bursting, they then say there is a severe delay at the moment due to severe signalling problems.... just as i was boarding the northern train they then announce that the whole of central line has been suspended..... i decide to take the northern line to kings cross and take the pic line towards heathrow, only there is only 2 trains for rayners lane. finally get to acton where we board the heathrow train..... it also doesnt help when you have people that dont know the underground tagging behind! Quite tiring.....

Just curious - why didn't you take the Jubbly to Canary Wharf?
Seemed pretty chaotic nonetheless!

My route would have been Hounslow West -> Green Park -> Canary Warf -> [walk to Heron Quays] -> Cutty Sark. I did have a look on the TfL journey planner though and its two recommended routes were Hounslow West -> Gloucester Road -> Monument -> [walk to Bank] -> Cutty Sark and Hounslow West -> Gloucester Road -> Westminster -> Canada Water -> bus.

One tiny problem with those suggested routes, Chris - they involve the District which was under possession all weekend Earls Court to Whitechapel !!

good point - I forgot about the engineering works this weekend. I asked the journey planner for the journey next Saturday evening to try and get it as close to when Dstock18 and Robster were travelling.
Anyway, it wouldn't stop my intuitive route using the Picc, Jublee and DLR.
