Just been watching this rather interesting programme on channel 5 (8pm - 9pm). Basically about big cranes moving big things. (e.g. houses!) Brings out the child in you!
Anyway, this may have cropped up somewhere else on the forum but sometime in the series they will be showing the moving of the W&C Line stock. I'm afraid i havnt got more details than this date wise, but i assume it's going to be a monday night, so keep an eye out! (Page 20 of the Radiotimes has a brief snippet, or at least it does in the south addition)
Enjoy!

Hiya Chris A, Can't be ars*d to check our mutual posting times, but I have a thread running on the Waterloo & City Line topic I started covering this. Please see: districtdave.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=wc&action=display&thread=1169993434I'm a long standing lurker but a newbie poster of just coming up to a month here. Hence a tad unforthcoming about suggesting to you guys here how you run your Site. So With The Greatest Respects to DistrictDave (and with absolutely no offence or sarcasm intended) could I suggest a New Main Index Topic Thread of, say headed, "LU Media Coverage" or similar. This would be for any threads headed up with information of if and when a relevant LU topic might be broadcast on radio or TV that members here might like to record or enjoy. Covering all LU matters, irrespective of Line etc. And, bearing in mind copyright etc., perhaps additionally enable members here to come to PM arrangements for a friend to tape a copy of a programme on their behalf because they are working during transmission times or don't have video recording facilities? (Like their partners are recording the soap operas or the football at the same time???) Getting back to the thread and your OP, the W&C stock move should be within the coming next THREE Mondays by process of elimination :-) I'd just mention I started my W&C thread because I saw someone else (sorry, can't remember) post about another programme that might interest folks here, so I posted to "return the favour", and you have also posted. So perhaps it's in order to suggest to the Moderators/Admins that since such stuff is likely to be at short notice, one new Topic be created to ensure anyone interested can become aware? Cheers, and respect to all, OngarParkNRide

Cheers, and respect to all, OngarParkNRide OngarPNR Thanks for your thoughts. District Dave’s LU Forum has been designed to cater for as many different areas of LU issues/subjects as possible. At the same time it is also important to try to keep the main forum page as tidy as possible. We recently made a number of changes in order to try to refocus the forum districtdave.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=Announcements&action=display&thread=1168310039 back to our core for this very reason. There are lots of websites out there, be they blogs london-underground.blogspot.com or news sites focusing solely on LU matters/reports in the media london-underground-news.newslib.com and with this in mind it is important that members can post threads relating to all areas for LU & just as importantly be able to recognise the correct section that they should be posting in. At present members usually post threads regarding general LU issues, including media related articles, depending upon their angle of approach in: OTHER LONDON UNDERGROUND MATTERSQuestions & CommentsGENERALGeneral Questions & Comments RantWe (the Admins) have discussed your comments/thoughts, however we believe that at present we have the right balance in that posts/threads do not fall outside of these three subject areas. Therefore we feel that currently there is no need to create a media discussion area or section. That’s not to say that we do not continually reassess the structure of the forum and will not change things again in the future. One thing we DO NOT want to do is discourage anyone from coming up with ideas/proposals how to develop the forum for the better. We are of course all members and it is our forum. Rather than slam the door shut on the proposal, the door is still ajar, so lets have some further thoughts please. Regards Christopher

News articles about specific lines or stations do get posted in those areas of the forum also, so I personally don't see a need for a separate media coverage area.

Thanks Chris M and Chris W. Your points taken and noted. As you might have guessed, my suggestion was based on being an advisory and "hot" current topic (like imminent in the next few hours or days) possibly involving most anyone with an LU interest, rather than a single line or spanning several lines, and possible multiple posts that I guess would be really discouraged here.
Apart from a fellow poster here on another broadcast programme that inspired my original OP as lifting the new stock into the W&C prompted, there is another website that provides a good record of fictional and actual LU locations used in past TV programmes. Sorry I don't have the link immediately to hand, but I'll try to dig it out if anyone else hasn't already found it.
Thanks and Cheers, all, OngarParkNRide
