Can anyone shed light on this room, I was told it was the original HQ control and lots of equipment in and a safe next door?

It's where punishment for non-compliance of the Corporate Branwashing Lessons are meted out!

But RM 222 can't be at 55 Broadway. Nor can RM 101. They were both scrapped in November 1985, according to www.countrybus.org/RM/RM7g02.html . Eh? What's that? Room? Oh. Oh,dear.

In answer to your first question: kept my head well below the parapet. In answer to your second question: Bound copies of old traffic circulars etc.

The safe had keys to all rooms in the Broadway Complex. This (apart from Security) was the only room manned 24 hours at Broadway. It was also where The HQ Information Assistants (a Station Master 2 Grade back then ) used to record the BBMS (station and control room speakers) and OneNine the service update voicemails. This was done in a special sound booth.
