Looking at the latest planned timetable changes thingy I see huge swathes of track replacement work on the District has been cancelled in January,TRP at Monument and the replacement of number 7 crossing at Tower Hill, also, the refurbishment of Cally Road has been cancelled. Is it all getting too much for Metronet & Tubelines?

Looking at the latest planned timetable changes thingy I see huge swathes of track replacement work on the District has been cancelled in January,TRP at Monument and the replacement of number 7 crossing at Tower Hill, also, the refurbishment of Cally Road has been cancelled. Is it all getting too much for Metronet & Tubelines? Bounds Green station closures have been rescheduled as well in the past as well as the White City project which causes immense amount of confusion - I think they've had to reimplement a temporary timetable in January again for the recommissioning of it. So it may not be strictly PPP, more just planning that went wrong which happens in many projects. But its difficult to remain circumspect and not fall into the trap of being cynical, as you always depend on the engineers being able to use the closures they book. Cancellations will happen, but the most frustrating thing is how these short notice closures can be TOO short notice and people are expected to pick up the fallout immediately, suspend their current work to cancel all the publicity, memos, TC paragraphs, and even worse withdraw any replacement bus services that were ordered for those closures - sometimes a penalty is charged for late cancellation. And often they are cancelled AFTER all the background work has been done. That Tower Hill crossover closure - where all the trains during the weekday that reversed at Tower Hill, were reversing at Mansion House instead, the timetable, duty sheets, publicity, and all the research behind that is now all wasted. And I think one of those weekends where the District Line crossover meant no service through Aldgate - there was a consequential change in timings on the Met line, as they were reversing in Moorgate, and conicided with a closure north of Northwood. That has now been ripped up, since now the trains can run to Aldgate again in normal timings I'd assume.
