In fact they were drawn by Alec Gorton the "C" Div manager who was a dab hand as an artist. His initials are at bottom right of sheet two

Bought some fond memories back for me, and learning from Motorman (top-rate) Percy has helped me get several trains moving again over the years. What I really liked about it was the way that normal 'railway' language had been cleaned-up, as I guess it had to be, even in those bygone days. 'a piece of cake' = 'a piece of pi*s'! 'Golly' = 'Oh f*ck'! 'Strewth' = 'Sh*t'! and so on. ;D
