One for the train op's i think.
Is there a part of track you enjoy driving, when driving a car there are sections that i enjoy and think i am good at (correct gear, good line, smoothness etc) do any of you guys have a section of track that you like?

I like fast sections! The approach to Southfields westbound is one of my favourites, especially on a C stock. 40mph approach, downhill, straight platform - great for practicing Westinghouse. Very satisfying if you get it just right (which I occassionally manage!)

Cockfosters to Arnos WB, also quite fast. I liked Amersham to Finchley Road too.

Going down Muswell Hill in a Metrobus was good, oh those were the days!

Cockfosters to Arnos WB, also quite fast. As anyone stood on Southgate WB platform will know (from the temporary damage to eardrums as train hits tunnel entrance).

Approaching High street Ken Inner Rail. However, must be on clear signals so I can get a good run up and then westinghouse into the platform. Fantastic!

Gunnersbury to Richmond - nice smooooooth ride all along there and some different views too, though it's a shame not to be able to drop into the pub on the e/b at Kew!
Elm Park to Dag E used to be fun before the 45mph PSR came in!

Please remember that hard braking and accelerating isn't good for the track

The approach to Wood Green w/b is a good one - hit the points at 40mph and start braking just as you get to them. Also, KXSP on the east - start braking at the platform entrance and look at the passengers on the platform jump at the noise of the train approaching.

Between East Acton and White City, especially the bit where the train passes and crosses underneath the WB. The 65kph target speed gives it a bit roller coaster feel.......

Yeah KX E/B is pretty loud!!! Arnos Grove to Bounds Green is quite good.
Agree about the Central into White City, big contrast to the V125 film on a 62ts doing 20mph! ;D

I actually quite like the District's Wimbledon road - though my most favourite driving experience to date was on the West Somerset Railway last summer - thanks again Phil for the officially organised cab day

On auxsetreq's video, what's that noise the train keeps making?

long beep at 00.03 is door closing... clicking at 00.08 is the TBC being used, three tones at 00.13 is Target Speed UP [increase YOUR speed] same again at 00.34, and 00.41, target speed DOWN at 01.07.... 04.27 is the wonderful OPO alarm, cancelled by rotating the TBC.
As you can hear, its rather musical...

I like fast sections! Echoing that! Some of the NR sections can be really good if you have the right train.
