Reading in The Times this morning, I became aware of a Downing Street e-petition regarding restricting photography in public places (65,000+ signatures to date) petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/I initially took the implication to mean that photography in public places is to be restricted, or worse still banned, however it seems that there are no proposed restrictions at the moment. Googling the topic it would appear that such restrictions, if introduced, would be agreed/imposed locally to protect particular groups (for example children). See the link below for further information: www.larryni.me.uk/blog/2007/03/29/no-proposed-restrictions-regarding-photography-in-public-places-in-uk/IMPO yes its sad that we have reached this 'nanny' state of affairs, but given the recent track record/direction of legislation in the UK, its all too predictable!

I believe, it will get to the stage, where we will end up having to apply for a licence from the government to breathe the air or even break wind... What next eh? Penalty for sneezing?
