I went to that site and the bit above really worries me. Even though I have heard of the company from elsewhere I am far too suspicious to have a scan by a system that collects data from my machine. Sorry: I've been caught out before.

For a free virus scanner use AVG : free.grisoft.com (AVG does come with a paid-for version, which is of benefit if you like to really customise things, but the free edition offers the same protection) For a free spyware scan use Spybot S&D: www.safer-networking.org/ and Adaware: www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ (use both as they will find different things) All three require you to install the program and come with a lifetime's free updates. They are regarded as the best in the business - even better than paid-for programs.

Got Ad-aware, got spy-bot, got (paid-for) panda.
If you get Aurora adware in, you also need ewido in conjunction with Ad-aware.
BTW I did have Norton anti-virus from Symantec but it was totally useless. That's what let in the Aurora adware!!!!!

How about getting Bullguard? Its great - anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-spyware all in one, combine that with the Ad-aware Personal and Antispyware from Microsoft.... my machines well protected! ;d

Antispyware from Microsoft.... my machines well protected! ;d Which in my experience is absolutely useless - it doesn't pick up lots of things.

Zonelabs ZOne Alarm Security Suite. Not as resource intensive as other systems such as Norton IMHO

That is what I use when I'm in Windows. Of course I don't need any of it in Linux Chris
