They are nice pictures, but suffer from the fotopic 'curse' of being oversized - the very reason photographers are turning to flickr, where photos are automatically resized.

That depends on your size of monitor. Those images are an amazing insight into a time before I was around, but are easily viewable on a 19" TFT.
When building/uploading images for my Fotopic site I made the conscious decision to opt for the largest size (1280x1024) as 17" screens are becoming obsolete being so small and are often not supplied with new computers. Fast forward 2/3 years and almost all new monitors will be 20" or larger, therefore negating the need to downsize images.

That's the old CME training train, used to run between depots,a case of the classroom coming to you instead of the other way round. When WCTC opened it was permanently stabled in White City Depot. It was scrapped in the late 60's.

The old 1920ts? Yeah, they were like a tube version of the F stock!

Pictures of the 1920 air door stock are extremely rare it would seem! Those windows look like theyve been nabbed from F stock spares. Weren't they built al trailers though? So why the end car windows? If anyone has any more pics of this unit please post the links!

The 1920ts was built for the Piccadilly line and comprised of 20 trailers and 20 control trailers. They were the first tube trains with air doors. They ran with 20 1906 gate stock trains that were also converted to have air doors (and had their trailing gate ends filled in). The control trailers had oval end windows (as did the German U-Bahn trains of the time) but did not have any other oval windows unlike the F stock. They were transfered to the Bakerloo in 1930 and remained on it till its 1938 stock arrived after the war. 5 were converted to an instruction train shown in the picture! I believe the 7 car train used 2 Standard stock motor cars?

Sounds plausible; on the bakerloo they ran with 'standard' DMs, so presumably they could mechanicaly couple.

Looking in 'Underground Movement' the 1920ts appears to have similar couplers to the Standard stock, I'm sure they would have been modified if not. The 5 1920ts cars would have been stuck between these 2 DMs to make a 7 car train or a similar length to the then dominant 38ts. Whether the CT was used is anyones guess? The old converted gate stock DMs where removed at some point but I'm not sure when?
