London Underground today reveled there new station for the Central line. The station between Holland Park and White City will see the current Shepard's Bush station become disused. The station called Shepard's Bush Green has now started appearing on tube maps at stations (the first being Redbridge Westbound). Photos of this station are below this text.

I could have sworn it was being renamed Shepard's Bush Market...I stand corrected.

The H&C one is being renamed Sheperds Bush Maret, at the same time as Wood Lane opens.

Because it is actually right opposite the green itself, or small parcel of land between the road of the same name and Uxbridge Road... Actually it is called a Common, but lets not go down that avenue...

Now it's being said that Shepherd's Bush (Central) is retaining the same name, and the new WLL station adjacent thereto will also be called Shepherd's Bush. The H & C station will become Shepherd's Bush Market and the new H & C station Wood Lane.
'The name Shepherd's Bush is thought to have originated from the use of the common land here as a resting point for shepherds on their way to Smithfield Market in the City of London. An alternative theory is that it could have been named after someone in the area, because in 1635 the area was recorded as "Sheppards Bush Green"': Wikipaedia

oops, forgot to put the smilies in the original post glad none of you took it seriously ;D If you wern't being serious (and thankfully those who use this forum are far too knowledgable to think you were being serious anyway) then why did you bother saying it in the first place? By the way, Shepherd's Bush Green (Central) is planned to be remodeled with new underground passageways and access.

Shepherds Bush Green has been on the Hainault enamel station list for many years. At that time someone made an error, but it wasn't changed. Still there to this day.
