Went to the Isle of Wight yesterday to sample the Lymington Slammer, IoW steam railway, and of course the Island Line 38TS! Unit 008 departs Smallbrook Junction for Ryde... Unit 006 picks up passengers at Smallbrook Junction... Unit 006 approaches Smallbrook Junction with a Ryde service... IoWSR kettle arriving at Wootton... 3CIG 1497 arrives at Brockenhurst... I also went to the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway the day before yesterday. Pics from that trip can be found here.

Great pics Seth, shame about the dinosaur livery on the 38ts its almost like the graffiti merchants have got to it! Like the RHDR pic where the drivers are exchanging tokens, I presume the angry looking one was advising the photographer to re-board the train ;D

I agree with your comments about the dinosaur livery. I was hoping the LT red unit would be running, although that was in St John's Road depot receiving attention. LOL - That driver's facial expression does look a bit ominous doesn't it. He didn't say anything to me though, honest. (I was well out of the way, etc etc )

Great pics, Seth.
The 38TS looked OK-ish in NSE livery... but dinosaurs?
I'll have to find my pics of the IoW, taken when I was ignoring the 'new' 38TS and riding on the Standard stock all day

One more nail in the coffin of the film camera. Oh so sharp!!
But don't knock the dinosaurs - they are totally relevant to the island's geological history. Better than some of the other liveries put out by TOCs - such as Ginster's for goodness sake??!!!!

Ahh, but surely WT's Ginsters livery is totally relevant to Cornwall's culinary history? ;D edit - CJ informs me it was ATW. Oh well, I've seen that particular unit in cornwall many a time, so it's still relevant!!

The portrayed dinosaurs are probably more like the real thing than Ginster's is to a real cornish pasty..
