Just a very small fraction of the photographs I've taken on the Tube, as part of some sort of life goal I set myself some time ago. (Meh.) Comments and critique welcomed, and if there's anything you want to see or ask about, then feel free to send me a message. www.flickr.com/photos/version-3-point-1/sets/1503573/Enjoy.

I think I've told you before via your blog, but I love your photo's! Lot's of people take pics of platforms and trains, but you think of artistic ways of photographing LU stuff! Very nice!

Very good pics indeed This one is interesting - I didn't know 'we' had installed this type of barrier. An good point in the comments too - more than one person could easily fit through it on one ticket - I wonder how much thought has been given to that side of it. Welcome too

Not only brilliant pics, but some of your links to other London Underground pic sites are almost as good. You should post them here (they could always join up themselves........).

What equipment you using? James You've been overcome by the beauty of the site and the quality of the pics.... every pic on the FLickr has it stated that it was taken on Canon EOS 350D (digital, so B&W or colour no problem) Pay attention James! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the lovely comments and the warm welcome everybody. ;D And in response to some of the comments above; I hop onto the Tube more or less once a week, purely to take photographs, so check back now and again as I upload most shots within 24 hours of any shoot. I see another photographer of London... On the board..... I like the B&W at West Ham.... Why not have it in colour!!! It may work!! Unless your covering something up What equipment you using? I used to shoot with Ilford B/W in a Pentax ME Super, so naturally I feel inclined to just chuck everything into Photoshop and desaturate them. Most of the West Ham shots were victims to this process, as I found that colour didn't always work, and with a lot of the SSL I find that B/W works a lot better (brings out the age!) Yep. 350D goes on the equipment list, along with 18-55mm and 28-90mm lenses, and a ND filter x4 to use on bright and sunny days in open stations.

Nice shots! As noted on your page they do show an "interesting" angle, lots of the bits you don't usually see.

Hahahahahah ""Shut up Phil! NO i was looking through the photos quickly!! Well i tell you something.... Look here www.jhlpictures.fpic.co.uk/p26558465.html See colour at west ham... Though an ilford Pentax ME Super and a small old compact 3.1 mega Pix camera lad... Myself... B&W brings out the age..... BUT You have to be careful.... Like me you will come to a point where you will end up doing B&W and mucking around with them constantly in photoshop.... I do Black and White urban shots yes..... But colour is due where it works best..... Black and white is intresting and great. But sometimes colour can punch you in the face!! Like here: www.jhlpictures.fpic.co.uk/p25119861.html Keep up the good work Jim

P.S I see you are hunting for photos on the tube.... Always remember the shot comes to you... You don't go to the shot>!! Remember you don't have to keep taking photos!!! Your not gonna die!!! But always keep the camera with, ESP when you are on a nice day out.... with no rush... These are the best times to catch things.... Because you are aware of whats going on in a chilled out way....! Not looking for a photo... which will pass you by... because you are looking for it.... Speech over!!! Jim

Hi V 3.1, I like the photosite, there's some really good stuff there OK - Here's something that has always puzzled me: why is it that in the 17 years I have been taking photographs on the London Underground, I have never ever seen anyone else taking their photos. I have been out at weekends, weekdays, early and late. There are loads of LU photographers out there, where are they? Hmmm, perhaps it's me they are avoiding ;D

Welcome version3point1, enjoy your stay with us! OK - Here's something that has always puzzled me: why is it that in the 17 years I have been taking photographs on the London Underground, I have never ever seen anyone else taking their photos. I have been out at weekends, weekdays, early and late. There are loads of LU photographers out there, where are they? I must admit, I have thought the same, I feel quite 'out' when out photographing because there's no one else doing the same as me, like yourself David, I take photos at all weird and wacky times of the day, be it a weekday or weekend and I don’t see anybody apart from tourists taking photos. (they don't count, do they? ) I've noticed a few spotters taking LUL numbers at West Ham and Stratford on occasions, but to my knowledge, the last time I really saw a large majority of enthusiasts was at the Acton Open Days and the Uxbridge 100 years celebration with the 1938TS out on the Met.

I'm not sure why you're making a fuss, folks.
A group of photographers is a load of trainspotters - yeuk!
A photographer on their own is a professional taking pics for large sums of dosh. Whoopee!
At least that seems to be the public's perception.
And on your own nobody, but nobody, can possibly publish that brillliant pic that you took and no-one else did.....

Hmmmmm...... A photographer on there own..... Is a photographer.. Anyone with a camera who likes taking pictures, evevn if they with a bunch of weirdos.. Is a photographer. Novice, Amuter, Serious Amuter (Thats me ) or professional..... Theres two types of professional photographer... The one in the studio and the out and about... Enjoying his work.. Then, you've got the headless chicken newspaper type..... The one who hates the job half the time.. and taking pictures of rubbish!! Being with another photographer, whilst taking pictures.... is in one word DANGEROUS!! He will copy your pictures!!! And use them.... Your own work being stated as someone elses! This doesn't apply though for basic things of a train e.t.c... That anyone can take... Jim
